What makes Grendel in particular a monster? Is it his behavior, thoughts, looks, or all three?

Grendel is considered to be a monster, mainly because of his appearance and his actions. Since he has been isolated from society and the humans have a hard time understanding his speech, he is quickly judged to be a horrible monster who should be killed. If a human being kills someone, he kills for honor and glory and will be considered a hero. Since Grendel has a difference appearance he is feared by all and is viewed as a monster who has no feelings or remorse.

Why do the humans judge Grendel so critically?
definitely all three.
but even if he looked ugly and was nice he wouldn't have been a monster
it's what he did that made people want to kill him!
I think grendel was a sasquatch
